We will be talking now about the types of bits you can use in this particular type of machine, which is a laminate trimmer. Your basic bit will look something like this. It has a little cut out with a very sharp edge on it. It gets mounted in the collet on the shaft in the machine. There is one requirement that you will find with this bit is that you need to pay attention that it is very very sharp. Otherwise, what is going to happen is you will get something that is called a burn. The next type of bit is very much similar to this one here. However this one has a carbide edge, very sharp, also much longer. It will allow you to trim a little bit thicker pieces than the laminate itself. And then also, you have something that is called a ball bearing bit. They all can be categorized by 1/4 inch shank. This part of the bit is called shank and this is what will go into the collet. Now that we have covered most of the types, I think we can move on to the next.
