Hi! I’m Stephanie Phillips with expertvillage.com. We’re talking about traveling by ship. Everybody thinks automatically, I must be going on a cruise. It is terrific going on a cruise. You can go for a weekend; you can go for a week. You can go around the world on cruise ship; it’s terrific. But there are other ways to travel by ship. You can go on a fabulous barge. There are European barges where when you travel, you have your cabin but you have so much accessibility to the small little villages, the small little towns. You actually can be left off in one small part of France, you step off the barge you’ve just had lunch, you climb on a bicycle, and you ride your bike for two miles. Then when you get there the barge is there. You had a nice bike ride, and what a nice way to go through Europe. Or you can go on sternwheeler. One of the ways that you enjoy a good ship experience is a sternwheeler. They have the types of cruises where they make it almost a theme cruise. Let’s say you’re going to do Abraham Lincoln’s time. They actually have a character play Abraham Lincoln and comes in and has discussions about what he wanted to do during his time, what he did, and how he made history. There are lots of ways to travel by ship. Don’t just think it has to be a cruise.
