Symptoms of Bad Dental Hygiene

And if one of the patients says, "Why is it when I get my teeth cleaned it hurts so much?" One of the reasons is because their gums are so sensitive because they haven't had it done for a long long time. Even our gum is conditioned to have the teeth cleaned, then when we get our teeth cleaned it's like getting our gum being massaged. It really doesn't hurt. Most of our patients follow the sequence and over the years they come in, they sit down, they literally fall asleep because they're getting their teeth clean and it feels good. It shouldn't hurt. When it hurts it's really because there's some type of irritation, swelling that's causing it, or on the other side, sometimes maybe the dentist or the hygienist may be working too hard because they have to remove some tenacious hard calc or debris that's on the tooth. So you want to prevent any of that to occur. You want to make sure our teeth is clean, so when you come in for a cleaning it should be a nice simple massage. It should be quick and easy and an in and out visit. It shouldn't be something that when you leave your mouth is still bleeding, and it's still hurting, that's just a no no. One of the sign is you can tell you really need something is bad breath. What causes bad breath? Bad breath is really caused by bacteria. Bacteria that hides in the undercut of your teeth around the pockets of the gum and most part on your tongue because when they multiply, they basically like to get a hold of any hidden dark area in the mouth in order to sustain themselves. And what we have to do is to go in there and to make sure we remove these bacteria on a daily basis and in doing so then our oral hygiene is completed, it's clean, it's nice, we feel fresh and you won't have these problems. And basically our mouth don't smell so bad when we talk or anything like that.
