How to Overcome Writer's Block

Alright now we're going to talk about overcoming writer's block. Some artists don't get it. Some artists get it frequently. It is something that happens. I believe the biggest thing to overcoming writer's block is to get back in the vibe you was once at. You want to think back in time when you were writing your best records. Where was you at in your life? Where was you at in your relationship? What was your mental place at that point in your life? You see what I'm saying? And then you want to go back and rehash them moments. You want to go back and try to relive them. Not necessarily...I'm not telling you to go back and find ex-girlfriends or dig ex-best friends up out of the grave that died. But you want to get back to the mind frame. What was my mind frame when I wrote that record that was so incredible one time? Well, I remember I was, yeah. Oh. You see, now I'm reminiscing, and by reminiscing I'm subconsciously putting myself back into that mind frame to overcome writer's block. It is mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter. Always remember that. If you don't mind, it don't matter. Mind over matter. Constantly. Prayer and meditation will get you over anything. Just meditation of getting in my zone. And people I work with will look at me like, "What is he doing? Is he in a bad mood? Did he just get angry all of a sudden?" No. I'm just...I'm getting in my zone. I'm really getting filled up with what I'm fixing to do, because I know greatness lives within me. See you've got to speak that into existence. Believe greatness lives within you. Right, and this writer's block is not a problem. I'm fixing to overcome this. I'm fixing to go back to writing hit records. And also you want to think. They say writer's block comes along when you have a lot of other things going on in your life. You want to keep them problems away from this. If you want this to be, if you want making rap music to be a hobby, treat it like a hobby. If you want it to be a career, treat it like a career. When you go into the office and you got problems at the house, leave your problems at the house when you're at the office. And also, if you're stuck on a record, and you cannot write a record to it, this is something a lot of people won't tell you, go home, go to sleep, listen to it with fresh ears in the morning.
