How to Pick a Rap Topic

So now we?re going to talk about subject matter. When you pick a subject it kind of goes back to the beat. Because I'm going to pick a subject based on how the beat flows and if the beat flows emotional and it's an emotional beat then I'm going to have an emotional subject matter. If it's a crunk real up tempo beat I'm going to have real crunker up tempo subject matter. Once again I'm going to play the beat this is the beat I selected. And then I'll tell you what my subject mater is. It's got that real vibe to it, real emotional. So you can tell instantly that I'm going to spit something emotional over the track. I'm going to be emotional to the track. See what I'm saying. So my subject mater probably going to be hope. I think I'm going to rap about hope on this one. But of course this is just me. You might hear the beat and hear something different. That's how you would pick your subject matter. See I grew up in a neighborhood where we had no hope. Our neighborhood role models always sold dope. It's real sad, cause it's so broke.
