In this clip, we're going to talk about the way to remove and replace worn front brake hoses on a nineteen ninety-one Ford Explorer. In this step, we're going to talk about floor jacks and a couple different kinds. And, the proper way to set your floor jack and jack your vehicle up so you can remove the tire. What I have here, this is my heavy duty shop floor jack. They're under a hundred bucks, just about anywhere you go to get one. If you're going to be a do it yourself mechanic, it's my advice go ahead and get one. It doesn't have to be as heavy duty as this one. But, a hydraulic floor jack is the way to go. I have here also, a scissor jack. I've got two of them. These things, in my opinion aren't worth the metal they're made of. They're extremely light duty, you can see the thickness of steel between them is great. And, they're only used for tire replacement. Now, they're not designed to hold the vehicle weight for an extended period of time. Nor, are they designed to hold the vehicle up if you're going to working on it and horsing it around. They're also only designed for the very specific vehicle that they came with. This jack is only supposed to jack up the car that it came with. My strong suggestion, to get yourself a hydraulic floor jack. Like I said, it doesn't have to be this big. But, the bigger the better. We're going to aim for the frame on my Ford Explorer here. It's a truck, so it has a full frame. Slide my jack underneath the frame. And, jack the vehicle up. And, that is the difference in some floor jacks and the proper way to jack up your vehicle.
