Hey there. We are talking about types of persuasion that you might be looking at as you write your great persuasive speech. Next we're going to take a look at questions of policy. Now, this is one that you might want to play with, you might not want to play with. Value might be a little more exciting for you, but when we talk about a speech, a persuasive speech, dealing with question of policy, what we're looking at is what should be done. Okay, It has to do with laws and things in existence and we want to talk about changing them. Like procedures that are followed. An example might be a sexual harassment policy at a college or a job. What is the procedure that we follow and should we change that procedure? You might want to talk about that. Laws changed, and this is where those of you, I know a lot of you as soon as you got this assignment, you were thinking you already knew what you wanted to write your persuasive speech about and that was legalization of marijuana. Okay, this is going to be a speech question of policy, laws changed. You can talk about legalization of marijuana, but what you're going to be doing is proving that the law that is status quo right now has to be changed. And then you're going to present to me why it has to be changed. And it better be good.
