In this clip we're going to talk about the proper service procedure to inspect, remove and replace your steel brake lines and bleed the braking system on a Ford Explorer. In this step we're going to talk about the proper way to re-jack and remove your jack stands and set it down. I slide my floor jack underneath the center of gravity which is going to be the middle of the rear axle and pump it up and get a hold of it there. Once you've made contact you can go ahead and pump it up. Release the safety levers on your jack stands. You can see how they drop down which is how they work, just like so. Once you have your jack stands out from underneath the vehicle do not get back under it. You go ahead and slowly release the pressure on your floor jack. You'll see the vehicle begin to creep down. You're going to want to set it down very slowly to avoid damage to your vehicle, yourself or your jack. From here you're going to want to take it to the carwash and spray off all the brake fluid that you got on the vehicle while bleeding it. That's the proper way to jack up and let down your vehicle.
