Locating an Inlet Heater Hose

eIn this clip we're going to talk about the proper way to flush your cooling system. In this step we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for figuring out which heater hose is your inlet hose. As you can see on my Ford Explorer I have two heater hoses and they're nondescript, they're not labeled as far as which one is which. You want to flush into the inlet hose. One hose is going to run from the heater core on the fire wall to the top of the engine and you can see, you can follow it around to the top of the engine. That is the inlet hose. We're going to make our connection for our flush kit right there. The other heater line runs to the bottom of the water pump. You can see how it runs here and then takes a sharp duck downwards. That's going to indicate the outlet heater hose. That is the proper service procedure for locating your heater hoses and which one is your inlet. If you're not sure about it, make sure to ask a certified technician.
