How to Cut Wood Veneer Furniture Patch

Well now that we have found a piece of the veneer that seems to match our grain pretty well, we're going to cut a patch. Now the patch has to be bigger than the damage so I'm going to take my little sheers here. These work pretty good for cutting veneer and cut out a patch that is bigger than this. I'll just sort of do it like this. You want to be careful when you are cutting this veneer because it does crazy things. It might split, crack, or fall off and you will have to start again but just be slow and painstaking and you'll cut out a piece of wood that is larger than the damage. Lay it down on there and check to make sure that it overlaps enough to get a clean line. That looks like it is going to work so our next step is going to be by laying it out on top of the damage and cutting around it.
