How to Mount a Starter Solenoid

In this clip we're going to talk about the proper service procedure in order to diagnose, remove and replace your vehicle's starter solenoid. In this step we're going to talk about the proper way to remount your starter solenoid and a little bit of a tip for you, if you, you can see here my factory starter solenoid is the identical one built for this vehicle. And it only has three terminals one, two, and three. The replacement has four and that's pretty common for it to look like this one, two, three, four. The two small terminals are going to be labeled "S" and "I". If your factory starter solenoid only came with three terminals, do not use the "I" terminal on the replacement. Nothing's going to go there it's just going to hang there dead. From here I'm going to take and remount my starter solenoid. Once I have both screws started you can go ahead and tighten them down. It's a good idea not to torque one screw before you have both of them started otherwise you may had it misaligned and not be able to get your second screw in. There we go, that are the differences between the factory and after market started solenoid and the proper way to remount it to the vehicles fender well.
