Picking a Public Speaking Topic

Hey, I am Tracy, author of "Be Delicious. The Art of Voice and Movement Integration." And today I'm going to be teaching you how to pick a great speech topic. So, you've been assigned a speech topic or you've been asked to give a speech. Well that's the most overwhelming part is what am I going to speak about? Well, it's really not as hard as you think. First, we're going to take a look at what do you know? What do you like? What are all the ways in which you can brainstorm a topic? Then once you come up with what you think you might like to talk about, we're going to cull it down. We're going to, I'm going to teach you how to break it down to its most finite information so that you're not feeling overwhelmed when you write the speech. Then of course, we're going to take a look at the audience. Audience analysis is a crucial part in picking a great speech topic. We've got to look at who you're speaking to. What's their age? What's their gender? What's their background? What do you have in common with them? Then, we're going to organize the information. Every speech has to have a general purpose, a specific purpose, and a thesis statement. Three body parts, a killer introduction, and a great conclusion, but it all starts with your topic. And that's what I'm going to show you. How to get all that done simply, fastly and have a winning speech on your hands.
