How to Identify Blue Chromis Fish

The fish that we are going to identify now is the Blue Chromis. Blue Chromis are one of the most common fish seen in the tropical waters of the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. The Blue Chromis is a fairly small fish, about four inches or smaller. Blue Chromis are a bright blue in color and often have a dark band along their back. The caudal or tail fin of the Blue Chromis is deeply forked and has black edges. There is also a Brown Chromis that has a similar body shape, but is brown obviously, rather than blue in color. Blue Chromis are very common and are usually found in schools that hang out over coral heads where they feed on plankton. Blue Chromis are fairly skittish and will dark for cover in niches in the coral reef when divers or snorkelers try to approach them. That's the Blue Chromis.
