Making Decoupage Bookends Non-Skid

To finish our decoupage bookend, we're going to glue some non-skid surface on the bottom of the bookend. This is the screwed-in end and I've cut a piece of non-skid. This is a, like a shelf paper and it's made of a, some sort of a fabric covered with rubber and that works perfectly for a non-skid bottom. You want to use a good amount of the tacky glue, of a nice thick clear drying craft adhesive. You put a real good amount on that. It will take quite a few days to dry completely because the non-skid is rubber so the air doesn't get to it and it'll take a little bit of time to dry. But, it makes a very nice surface. You can use felt also, but the non-skid is nice for a bookend because the bookend is supposed to hold heavy books from sliding over. So the non-skid will help in that, keeping the bookend from sliding. And you just want to coat that over, you cut the non-skid to the exact bottom of the bookend. Just place that on, make sure that it's even on all sides and you can let it dry in this position. That will help hold it down.
