Body Positioning in a Butterfly Kick

Okay in this clip we're going to talk about body positioning in the air, how you want to be. So now the body positioning, you want to be flat, arms out, head up, leg level. So like I say you want to be like a ballerina here, now when you jump and go into it both legs are going to be out there and you're going to float into a half circle going all the way around. So your butterfly twist is going to look like this, or your butterfly is going to look like this. So after you can see when I land my butterfly I just sat one leg down, and then just kind of spin out of it. Okay again, like I was saying, body positioning is really important to make sure you have good posture so as you go into it, pick up your head, arms out, legs out. You kind of want to be like a "x" in the air. So like I said, body positioning is really important. So in the air you're going to be kind of like a skydiver, hands out, legs out. Now when you're here you don't want your head down, you want your head up. Pick it up, arms up, legs up. And you're going to be like this rotating in the air doing close to a 360-degree turn. So with a side view, it will be like this. As you go into it jump, legs up, point your toes, arms up, head out, and you should be like this floating into the air. So, in order to get this high, you want to really make sure and kick up your legs super hard and get flat. Everything's going to go straight out, just like that. As you come down, the opposite leg is going to land.
