Hello, my name is Yessenia Balan and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to talk about the proper techniques for singing. Our next exercise will work out your abdominal. So we're going to go ahead if you can, put your hands in your abdominal area, find the part underneath your ribcage, and go ahead and put your hands there. And we're going to do a small exercise that a lot of people find a little funny, but that's OK, the important part is to get your abdominal muscle working for you. So we're going to sing it this way with a "Ha". Just like, "Ha ha ha ha." Like this. Listen to it. "Ha ha ha ha ha." Now you may notice, again, my abdominal muscle working so you'll notice this moving quite a bit. That's fine. That's exactly what we want to see. But I want you to go ahead and try it one time with me and then we'll try the whole exercise. "Ha ha ha ha ha." OK? I'm going to go ahead and play the piano with both of my hands, you can keep your hands there on the abdominal area, but I want you to sing with me, now, if you are a gentleman and you're trying to sing as high as I'm singing, be aware you're probably going to need to sing the same exercise an octave lower. So if I'm singing up here. "Ha ha ha ha ha." Gentlemen, you want to start with "Ha ha ha ha ha." Ladies, don't try this at home. So here we go. "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." "Ha ha ha ha ha." Now you're going to find that with this exercise, you can go a lot higher than you normally do and that's because it doesn't require as much air. So you can feel a little bit more freedom to go a little bit higher.
