Hello, my name is Yessenia Balan and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to talk about the proper techniques for singing. Your next part is your knees. Your knees need to be flexible. You never want to lock your knees because if you lock your knees you can actually prevent the flow of blood to go to your knees, or to your body and there have actually been cases of people fainting from locking their knees. So if you're going to sing make sure that your knees are relaxed, but of course not so relaxed that you're going to fall over. The next, and the very last thing you need to check is the distance between your feet is, is shoulder-width apart. Now sometimes you might find helpful to have one of your feet towards the front. Whichever foot feels more comfortable, it's fine. But the widths of your feet need to be shoulder-width apart. This is the best position for singing. You can also have them just side-by-side, but shoulder-width apart. This is the correct position so that you can have the optimal singing control. Now it does not mean that you can not move around from that position or have some freedom, but this is the optimal position. So, I'm going to start from the feet up this time. Just to re-summarize the proper singing position. Feet should be shoulder-width apart. Knees should be relaxed, hips turned in. The chest towards the back, but not too far back, with shoulders relaxed. Your chin should be parallel to the floor. And that is your optimal standing position for singing.
