Using Detergents & Bleach on Laundry

Hi there. Welcome to the wonderful world of washing clothes. Today we're talking about all the things to do with washing your colored clothes. And we're moving on to detergent, fabric softener and bleach. So, I just want to show you really quick I got these samples on line from a major brand. I just went in, kind of filled out a survey and they send it to you. This is really great because sometimes you want to try new things. You're not sure if it's going to work. So go ahead and get some samples and try it and then stick with a brand that you really like the best. Now there is detergents that have color safe bleach in it but I tend to stay away from those. Just because I don't want to risk it. And as far as bleach goes. Actual bleach. Never put it on your colors. Save that only for your whites. So if you get a good detergent I don't think you really need to worry that it has color safe bleach in it. Also, another thing is, nowadays they're having these concentrated bottles of liquid for your detergent. It's great. Remember those old bottles where they were like heavy and you had to be a weight lifter? You don't have to worry about that anymore. They're making these small bottles. You use like half a cup and it's the same as the big bottle. Also, just a note about liquids or powder. I always choose liquids. Powders seem to be like a little bit more abrasive. And sometimes they get caught like in the creases of your clothes. There's like residue? But I've never gone wrong with liquids. I always stick with liquids. So there's a good plan for you. Get your detergents, stay away from the bleach. You can use your fabric softener if you want to and lets get washing those colors.
