Reading Labels on Colored Clothes

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of washing your clothes. Today we're talking all about washing your colored clothes. One thing I'd like to discuss is reading the tags on your clothes. You're probably wondering, "Why do I want to take time and do that? That's going to take me extra time." I promise it'll be worth it if you read these tags. Go ahead and get your clothes. Usually the tag is right here under the name of the clothes, but sometimes not. Sometimes you have to do a little bit of fishing around, and there it is. So you want to read the tag. For instance, this one says that it's 97% cotton and 3% spandex, and I want to wash it in cold water. So that would go in my cold water pile. You're probably wondering why. Why would you put it in a different pile? Well you don't want things to shrink, and like for your delicates, sometimes you don't even want to wash your delicates in the washer, you want to hand wash them. Reading that tag will let you know what kind of water and where to do your clothes. The next thing you can do is go ahead and look at a pair of jeans and feel them. The way to the jeans...I don't like to wash them with anything really light because what happens is, like let's say you have a really cute light shirt, the buttons can come off of it because this is so heavy. But this is actually wash in cold, so you put it in your cold pile. You don't want to shrink things. It's just really heartbreaking when you bring something home, you just throw it in and not read the tags and it shrinks. You want to make sure to preserve your clothes for as long as possible to get the most wear of them. The way that you can do that is reading your labels. You can also find out from your tags if you need to wash them in the washing machine at all. Sometimes it says to hand wash or to dry clean, and you really don't want that really special blouse that you just got to shrink. So pay attention, take a moment, read those tags and preserve your clothes for as long as possible.
