Using Push Block Guard with Table Saw

The table saw is a very useful tool, but sometimes you have to pay attention to details in the finished product. I'm referring to very narrow strips when you need to cut them. As you can see if we were to cut anything by pushing material through the blade with your fingers, you create for yourself a situation that is not necessarily safe. That is why we are utilizing something that is called a push block. They are commercially available or you can just make yourself one, a very simple product and it's nothing else but a piece of plywood which you guide against the fence and through the cut pressing material down and thus allowing you to create a very narrow cut. And this is basically what it is all about. It is safety above all, obviously you don't want to move your fingers through too close to the blade.
