How a Rap Beat Uses MIDI Data

This is Jose Caban. Mac OSX, Reason and Cue Bass are registered trademarks with their respective companies and I am in no way affiliated with Apple, Propellerhead or Steinberg. Ok so we've got some kind of funny note here. So we're going to double-click and the beauty is you can delete stuff that's not supposed to be there. You just click on the midi data, click on the note and you delete it. So that's another really, really handy thing with midi is if you mess a note up you just move it or delete it, you don't need it. Don't forget we're always going to be manipulating these sounds a little bit, playing with the male strum, playing with the subtracter. I'm actually got the last one going in to a sampler that has a violin in it. It's actually a viola. To give it a sampled sound of somebody playing a viola to the notes that I specified with my midi data.
