Now in this next clip we want to focus on the foot work to make sure you get a full understanding of what the oberek is. We related it to a fast waltz because it's more of a 1 2 3 pattern but now you're adding more lift and more hop to it. To take it here as you can see you are going to come off your heels and stay on the fronts of your feet and you're going to move side to side, 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3. As you can see Elaine and I are relaxed in the knees and we're off of our heels and it's 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3. It's a side to side motion going very important in the oberek that it has that side to side feel almost like a hop. Again side to side, hop side to side, a gentle hop though not high side to side is your oberek step.
