One of the very important functions that are performed by the prime teeth is the pronunciation of certain words of the formation of the proper speech or phonetics. There are certain words like the f and the v and the s which is created with the articulation with the tongue with the tooth. So if for any reason the prime teeth of your baby got lost because of the tooth decay or maybe because of the trauma then it may ultimately result in the speech defect which may persist through the life of your baby's...uh...baby's life. So if for any reason your baby's tooth would decay always try to preserve it. Never take it as because it isn't permanent it doesn't matter, it is going to be replaced by the permanent teeth. It is not the case. Always try to maintain, restore, or always try to pursue your doctor to restore the primary teeth of your baby. For example, if we take the case of the upper incisor, if it got lost early in life, before the age of 7 to 8 years, it may result in the distortion of certain words like the f of the s. Which ultimately leads to certain speech defects.
