How to Jack Up a Car
Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be taking you through step3 for replacing a flat tire. In this step, we will be jacking the car up to relieve pressure off the tire and so we can remove the lug nuts. So you want to grab your emergency jack or your spare tire jack, go ahead and start cranking it up and this will take a while. Nobody really likes these but in case of an emergency, they work great. Go ahead and position the jack underneath your lift points and continue to raise the jack until it hits your lift point. Once it starts to raise the car, test the jack to make sure that it is secure, raise it a little bit more, test the jack again and then continue to raise it. Typically I will keep my hands out away from the car in case the jack slips or the car falls. Continue to raise the jack until your tire is off the ground.
