Talking about the shedding of the teeth, the ex foliation of the teeth. All of the twenty primary teeth are going to ex foliate and ex foliate between the ages of six to twelve years. They are followed by the eruption of the permanent teeth and they usually erupt. That is the permanent tooth usually erupts six months after the shedding of the deciduous teeth. So the rule of shedding is that the first tooth that is going to erupt in the oral cavity is going to shed off first. According to that, the lower first incisor is going to shed off first at the age of around six to six and a half years followed by the lower lateral incisor at the age of around seven to seven and half years. During that same time only, that is at the age of seven to seven and half years the tooth that is also going to shed off is the upper central incisor followed by the upper lateral incisor at the age of around eight to nine years. The next tooth that is going to shed off is the lower first molar and is going to replaced by the lower first premolar at the age of around nine to ten years followed by the lower canine again at the age of nine to ten years. Then the tooth that is going to shed off is the upper canine and first molar at the age of around ten to eleven years. And then finally, the mandibular and the maxillary second molar which are going to be replaced by the permanent bicuspid premolars at the age of twelve years.
