Learn the Solo of Nirvana's "Come As You Are"

In this segment we are going to talk about the solo from "Come As You Are". Let's take a look at the guitar. For the most part, we're going to keep the entire solo on the G string. We're going to start on the sixth fret, go up to the ninth fret, and then the eleventh fret. Now, the actual song, he's using a Chorus Peddle to make his guitar sound wavering and as like as if it has a vibrato effect. We can emulate that effect with our fingers by just shaking the string. (Audio demo) Then, we bend the eleventh fret on the G string, up to match the note as if we were fretting the thirteenth fret. It sounds like, it should match this note. At the same time we bend that, we're going to use our index finger on the ninth fret of the B string and hit them both together. Back down to the ninth fret and then the sixth. Six, nine, eleven, six, nine, eleven, six, nine, eleven bend it and back down to nine and six. Take a listen as I play it. (Audio demo) It's not a hard solo; it's just through the same phrase that repeats four times. That about wraps up "Come as You Are" by Nirvana. I'll see you in the next series. Take care.
