In this segment we're going to take a look at the clean Pre-Chorus. It sounds a little bit like the Intro, but there's some distinct differences between the Intro and the Pre-Chorus. Let's take a look. The first couple chords kind of look like those two finger power chords we just discussed. These ones. Except there's a little bit difference in how we pick them. We're going to put our index finger on the fifth fret of the A string, our ring finger on the seventh fret of the D string, and then we're going to hit it the open G string. It sounds like this. Then we'll slide this whole form up two. Index finger on the seventh fret of the A string, ring finger on the ninth fret of the D string. We're going to hit those three notes right in a row again to open G, like this. Then, we're going to slide down, using the same power chord form. Index finger on the second fret of the A string, ring finger on the fourth fret of the D string. But watch how I play this. This is more like the introduction here. Then I hit the open D string taking my ring finger off. Then I'm going to take my middle to the third fret of the low E string and do that same thing. Low E string, D string on the fourth fret, then open it up. It sounds like this. All together the Pre-Chorus sounds like this. (audio demo) Work that through a few times. It's really easy but a really fun riff to play. It's a little bit lighter, a little bit lower dynamic and I'll see you in the next segment to discuss it. See you there.
