In this segment, we're looking at the verse section for Blink 182's "Adam's Song". Let's take a look at the guitar. Now we're still in the drop tuning. We're going to do two finger power chords. Now, if you don't know that is, basically, it's this shape right here. You could rook them on the low E or the A string. In other words, you could put your index finger on the low E or A string and it would like this in this position or this in this position, here in this position and so forth. OKay? The two finger power chords for "Adam's Song" start on the fifth fret of the A string and your ring finger is on the seventh fret of the G string. This is a D power chord, it sounds like this. The next power chord you'll use, is wrote it on the low E string, you'll take your index finger slide it down to the third fret of the low E string and you'll keep you ring finger on the fifth fret of the A string. This is a G power chord, it sounds like this. The next chord you'll use is back to the A string but this time on the second fret. You'll put your ring finger on the fourth fret of the D string. This two finger power chord sounds like this. Those are the three power chords that we used. Now, we actually go back to that G power chord which is on the third and fifth fret of the E and A strings here. All together we're going to give those all down strums. It sounds like this. Eight times, then down to the next one, to the G power chord. Down to the B power chord, which was two and four on the A and D strings. Then back to that G power chord. All together, we'll do that quite a few times over the verse, but it sounds like this. (audio demo) And just repeat. That will loop over ever verse. It's a pretty simple arrangement of power chords, but its good to exercise your two finger power chords. You need to make use of them a lot when you're playing rock and roll. In the next segment, we'll talk about the Pre-Chorus. It's another series of lines that we'll play. I'll see you there.
