We're going to continue on with accent exercises right now. Just a few more and then you can come up with all kinds of your own, as well as if you pick up a book on drumming. There'll be plenty of accent exercises for you to work on. This is just to get you started. What we did in the last video is we said right, right, right, right, left, left, left, left. Now what we can do is just change it around a little bit. Say right, right, right, right. So you put the accent on the second note. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Again, very important that your stick height remains constant. Where the accent comes up higher, the others do not. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Here's another one. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Now, you notice I'm saying it out loud. This is very important when we start learning to read music, you're going to really want to be speaking out loud so it's a good place to start here. Also, notice how I say the accented number out loud as well and I accent with my voice. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Doing that will really help you progress faster than if you don't say it out loud, so really try to say the accent out loud. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four, and so on.
