The whole concept of improvisational music its probably best you know a lot of different styles of music, which covers a wide range of American music, which is country, jazz, blues, early rock and roll, gospel, even some further back, or European structure style music. This way if you are in a band and its your time to take a solo and want to do something a little bit off the beaten path that?s a little different than the music being played if you have those concepts rooted in your structure of playing you could probably improv something right off the top of your head because you have all those skills and knowledge of theory, and picking styles would probably make for a very interesting solo. Also it would be best to learn all sorts of music because of that.
