Smoothing in Wood Scratch Repair

Alright, now we've got all our burned ins in, we've got our cream on and we're going to take the knife, pull with the grain right over the surface of the repair, and you'll see it start to come off on the knife. Again, always pulling with the grain of the wood. As you remove more and more of the material, you can put a little more pressure into it. And what the flat blade of the knife does, it keeps it level on both sides and makes the surface level. So that's our big divot, now we'll go over here and get the little one. This is the kind of things they do in furniture stores and places. When you think you got a new piece of furniture, and it was never scratched, of course anything coming off of a truck being moved around usually gets dinged and banged. But there's somebody on the spot usually ready to take care of it and do the same thing I'm doing here. So I think I've got it all removed and the divot's full and we just stop. And then we'll continue on with the next step.
