Hi there. We're here to talk about Polka and it's not the dance that you would think of. The Polka is actually a dance designed in 1830's down in Auk, Bohemia and it's a fun little dance that swept across Europe. It actually went through Europe and across the United States and it is still danced today in many nationalities. It's been around a long, long time but it's gone through a lot of changes and transformations and now it's actually a great time. It's best kept secret, most people don't know what a great time it is. Now, one thing about the word Polka, it's actually Czech. But the word Polka means half-step. And, that's what you're going to be dancing in a Polka, a half-step in two four time. But don't worry about that, we're going to teach you all about the Polka in just a few minutes. And, it's going to start out with basic, then we're going to take you on to some other things you can do on the dance floor with it. Most of all you're going to have a great time with it.
