Press Drum Roll Exercise 1

In this segment we're going to do a pres roll and we're going to count it in time in a measure of four four time. So we're going to count to four and we're going to play the press roll in the first quarter note. So it's going to take us from one to two like this: one, two, three, four, one, two, three, and four. What am I actually doing? I'm going one e and a two. So it's sort of like doing sixteenth notes. One e and a two, three, four, but we're going to bounce. One e and a two, three, four. So one e and a two, three, four. One e and a two, three, four. One e and a two, three, four. One e and a two, three, four. One e and a two, three, four. One e and a two, three, four. Here's what that press roll sounds like on the snare drum. Again we're playing just for the first quarter note. One e and a two like that.
