Yoga Fan Position

So the next pose, Fan, is a wide straddle position with your feet. You want to have them wide enough apart so you can hinge forward from your hips, allow your tailbone to lengthen and your seatbones to rotate up. You can keep your hands on your hips to help guide you forward. And then when you get towards the floor, release your fingertips down. Hands want to stay right under the shoulders. Reconnect to your feet. Draw the muscle energy up your legs and then tip your seatbones back stretching your hamstring, actively using your quadriceps muscles. Inhale. As you exhale again ground through your feet, lift your chest, hands to the hips to draw up to standing.
