Finding the Perfect Little Black Dress

Hi. I'm Terri Turco with Expert Village and this is wardrobe for women over thirty. Now we've talked about the pants suit, the white blouse, the skirt, the pants, now this is my very favorite item. It is the one item that you can get dressed without even thinking about it. It's called the dress. I call this easy dresses and what it starts with is the LBD; the little black dress. Now as you see here, I have two. Not one but two dresses. Now this, of course, is dressy. Don't wear that to the office unless well you work elsewhere, and this of course is for something for daytime that can go into nighttime very easily. Now I know that there are climates that you want something with a long sleeve. That's fine. But the best things to start, even if you?re not a dress girl, have at least one dress and that should be the little black dress. Okay, looks good on just about everybody. You can dress it up, dress it down. Add some really great accessories and you, my love, are good to go. Now, I want to show you two other styles that have been in fashion forever. It's the sheath dress. Okay, sheath can be at the waist or straight down. This is another item that is really great to have. If you only have the little black dress, that's okay. If you're not a dress girl, just get one dress but if you want to venture out, and have items that really stay in your wardrobe forever, the sheath really works well and you can get it at the waist as I said here, or straight down. They're very slimming. Have the hem come right above the knee; most flattering length for everybody and you'll wear it forever. Now these are both sleeveless. You can wear a sweater over it, belt it, put it underneath a jacket; it really is a great wardrobe item. Now, I'm going to show you the Diane Von Furstenberg little wrap dress. Wrap dresses are so in right now and this is a wrap dress I've had for a number of years. I wear it all the time. People love it. Wrap dresses are the best thing going for a woman, because they're slimming. Because the wrap pulls to the side, it gives that illusion that your waist is smaller which is always a good thing. And last but not least, the polka dot is a wardrobe staple because polka dots really never, ever, ever go out of style. Okay, so that's just a little hint. If you want to have something with a little pop to it, pop to the polka dot and you will be a fashion forward girl. It won't go out of style. Okay, so those are just a few little tips on the easy, easy dress. You just put it on put a pair of pumps, you're good to go. And if you're only going to have one dress, make it the little black dress.
