Cut Fabric for a Frayed Look
Hi. Welcome to Expert Village. I'm Gretchen Soares and today we're going to be making a rag blanket. Okay, now that we've assembled the rows all together, we have our blanket all together, and we're going to do the time consuming part of clipping so that we get the frayed look. You're going to clip around each square and you're going to clip it right to the seam allowance, but not through it. You can cut them together if your hands are strong, or separately if they're not. I have some very sharp scissors so we're going to go ahead and cut them together. Okay, we're going to clip these about three quarters to a half an inch apart because we want some good fraying to go on. We don't want to clip them too far because we won't get as much fray when we wash this. And we're going to go ahead and do each seam on the blanket, both cross and vertical.
