Sewing Rows to Make a Rab Blanket
Hi. Welcome to Expert Village. I'm Gretchen Soares and today we're going to be making a rag blanket. So once we have our squares all assembled, we're going to put them together into the rows. Individual rows so that we can sew the blanket together. I like to lay it out how it's going to finish, because otherwise I make mistakes. So I'm going to lay it out and I'm going to pinch up the two seams and put two pins in it to stabilize it and keep it together. And we are going to pin this entire row together that way. So there's this row and as I have the quilt laid out, I like to just go ahead and pin all the rows together at once so that I remember, so that they're all pinned together. I'm not coming back and doing this continually. And then I stack them together in the order that they go and carry the whole stack to the sewing machine. Now that we have our rows all pinned together, we're going to come to the sewing machine and sew them together. We want to sew with a once inch seam allowance. So we're sewing it one inch
from the edge. And we're going to do this whole row. We're going to sew each row individually together as such. We're going to do this step for each row of the blanket so that we have all the rows sewn together and stacked back together.
