Hi Casey... You mention that you have nothing to connect the sides to the back, or no guide for the sides. A little advise... Firstly, an A-Line Bob is best when the partings reflect an A, (i.e. the back should be two sections, then the left side would be parted from the center downward and the the same on the right, so when you are looking at your parting you would see a VERY CLEAR A), once the back is cut, you over-direct the sides to the back guide and that will add the weight and length in the front, creating the A-Line Bob... Your technique is not bad, but it will be much more polished if you parted it correctly... in addition, it is so much easier if you part the sides in front of the ears (where it attaches) and not behind it... Try it, I'll bet it reduces your time and will give it a much more precise look... Great job!!! regards from Florida...

Tips for Making Bob Haircuts Even

Hi, I'm Casey and I'm with Elements University. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment we're going to do our final check before we blow dry. So now that I have my haircut pretty much completed I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to take the cape off of my client cause she has dark hair and it's against the dark cape. What I need to do since we didn't have any guide to come from our right side to our left side and I'm just going to feel and make sure that she's even. I'm just going to work my way down through the hair and she's slightly longer right here so all I'm going to do is I'm going to come back, I'm just going to take a little bit more off of that section. I'm going to go back and recheck so those look even. What I'm going to do here for the back section is I'm going to have my client look down and I'm going to make sure that I'm combing the hair straight back. Again I'm going to use the back of her neck here as a guide and I'm going to take the whole section down all at once. I'm going to lay my fingers on her neck and I'm going to clean up any of these little stray hairs that I see. When doing all this it's going to expose any of those little hairs that are underneath right along her little hair line. Go ahead and just cut those off, do the same thing on the other side. Kind of let her hair go loose and then you can follow her natural hair fall and go ahead remove any hair that is out of place. Have your client come up kind of shake the hair a little bit and make sure it's falling right. As you can see I have a couple of little pieces right here that is a little bit longer so I'm just going to come in still at my angle just like I would of when I was initially cutting. I'm just going to take those off so at this point what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and blow dry our client. Then I'm going to flat iron her hair to get it as straight as possible I can and then in the next segment we're going to do our final run through with the hair being dry.
