Cutting the Back of Hair for A-Line Bob Haircuts

Hi, I'm Casey and I'm with Elements University. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment I'm going to show you how to cut the back section of the head. In our previous segment I went ahead and showed you how to set our guide. So I have my guide already ready I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to bring down another section. Again making sure that my partings are very clean and even. I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to keep the cape off of my client for a little bit longer just because I want to make sure that it's not getting in my way. Cause I definitely need to make sure that I have a solid strong line going on down here. So I'm just going to split it off down the middle and I'm going to start on this section. As you can see I have my guide right here that I'm going to continue to follow. I'm going to angle my hand straight down so that way my hand can also act as a guide to this haircut. Then I'm going to come over and I'm going to do the next side. As I'm doing this I want to make sure that that the hair is completely straight from her scalp out to your ends. You don't want the hair to buckle at any point again here's my guide. Also to when I'm doing this I'm over directing the hair backwards towards me so that way I'm making sure that I'm keeping lengths on the side of my hair cut. I'm going to come in and make sure that I'm still even. At this point I'm going to put the cape back on here, I'm going to bring down another section still again taking small clean partings and make sure that they're even all the way across. Again I'm going to divide the hair cut in half in the middle of her neck. Starting at one side making sure that angles my fingers are pointed downward as my guide, I'm just going to make sure that I follow that. When I come out to the ends I want to extend it just a little bit further than the last time that I cut. So that way that my lines continues to go straight down cause I have to remember that I have to connect it down to that length. Stay tune for our next segment on the part 2 of the cutting of the back section.
