Hi, welcome to Expert Village. I'm Gretchen Soares, and today we're going to be discussing how to shop for children's clothing. In this segment we're going to talk about adding outerwear to our wardrobe. When I say outerwear, I mean a little jacket and a sweater, something along those lines. A lightweight garment and a heavier weight garment would be good, that way if it's kind of breezy you can wear the lightweight, if it's really cold you can wear the heavier weight. You want a little bit of choice. I like to keep them somewhat neutral in color and appearance so they go with more of a variety in your wardrobe. So we're going to come look. For the little girl, I'd love to get a sweater would be really good. Oh this is really cute. It goes well with what we've chosen, has button front, so it's going to be easy to get over the head. We don't want something to pull over the head, that's going to make it simple. I don't like squirming kids. My kids have never liked jackets, and so putting something on them that goes over the head is much more difficult. It's easier to catch an arm and shove it in there than it is to pull something over their head. Also, it gives a little more versatility if you're going out. I don't like having to take the jacket on and off every time I get in the car seat. So I can simply unzip the jacket or unbutton it in the car seat to let some air in and be a little cooler, and then just zip it up as we get out. I don't like having to undress my kid at every stop. When looking for a jacket, I don't want something that's going to be hard to care for. I look for common fabrics such as cotton and polyesters, nothing that's going to take dry cleaning or special treatment, because jackets get dirty and then need to be laundered quickly to be used again. Okay, and we're going to pick a boys jacket to go with the boys wardrobe we have. A little denim jacket, to me, is always great for boys. This is a snap front, which is really good. It's denim, which means we're going to launder well. Since we're looking at recycled, we're going to check and make sure these snaps all work right. Don't want to get it home and not be able to snap it up. Yep perfect, so I think that would be a great choice. I also like this little windbreaker. It's really nice, it?s launderable, it has a hood on it for if it's raining, that's great. All of these are washable, and all of these are going to blend with the colors we have already chosen.
