How to Prevent Anaphylaxis

About prevention and preparation; in order to prevent an anaphylactic reaction it's important that you know what you may be allergic to. If you know what it is that you are allergic to it's very important that you avoid the substance. If it's a food it's very important that you read all labels of the food that you are going to eat. It's important that you notify all your friends and immediate relatives so that they don't cook and use the food and it's also important to keep that food as far away from you as possible. If it's a drug it's important to be aware of that and to notify your health care personnel as long as anybody in a health care setting you come in contact. You want to notify them that you have a drug allergy. If it's an insect that might be a little more difficult but you might want to avoid areas that have a lot of insects. You may want to wear long sleeve clothing and avoid bright colors strong perfumes that may attract insects. Another thing you can do is you want to meet with your primary care doctor and you want to make sure that they are aware of the situation and you might want to consider getting an EpiPen if you are prone to a severe allergic reaction. Knowledge and awareness of yourself and your situation is the best prevention against anaphylactic reaction.
