We're going to talk about more specific causes of Anaphylaxis. And, just get more into depth on some common things that can cause a severe allergic reaction. And, with anaphylaxis. In order for anaphylaxis to occur, your body has to be exposed to one of these substances in the past. And, you had to have a reaction to the substance. Now, among the skin contact. There's several common causes there. I'm going to get on more specifically on to the injection. Any type of bee sting is a very common one along with wasps and several different insect bites can cause allergic reaction. Another common cause for injection to allergic reaction would be at the hospital. Several times, people get medications such as penicillin. And, that's a very common reaction. Also, a very common reaction would be someone receiving blood products. It's very common for people who get allergic reactions from receiving blood transfusions from the hospital. So, whenever you go to the hospital you want to be sure that you are aware of any allergies that you have. And, make sure that you're not going to be allergic to anything that they give you. Most of the times, they should check. But, for your own safety you always want to be aware. Another common cause of anaphylaxis is when you get a CT or any type of radiology treatment. Some people have allergic reactions to the dye that they'll give you. So with injections, any time that you're going to receive an injection at the hospital be careful. And, anytime that you're around bees, insects, wasps, ants, anything like that be cautious. Through ingestion, some of the most common ones are shellfish along with as I mentioned earlier, peanuts. And, over the counter medications. Whenever, you're taking an over the counter medication be very careful you know what you have allergies to. It's important to read the labels and be aware of anything that you're going to take, put into your mouth. You want to be sure that's there's no chance you're going to have an allergic reaction to it. It may surprise you, but something as harmless as latex and rubber gloves or several food additives can also cause anaphylaxis. Such as sulfates that you might find in some of your common foods. So, it's very important to be aware of anything that you're in contact with. Be aware of anything that you might be allergic to.
