How Whitening Toothpaste Works

The most important thing as far as controlling the sensitivity and keeping the enamel and the gum healthy is to use the proper toothpaste. And you should be prescribed toothpaste called Control RX or something similar to that which basically has 1.1% of sodium fluoride versus the traditional toothpaste which is much, much less in concentration of fluoride. And why is that so? We want to make sure the tooth is strengthened, it's stable before you whiten the teeth because you're creating a minor trauma, a very, very mild trauma, but you want to make sure, even so it's mild, you want to make sure the tooth has a chance to recover and the fluoride, by far will do that. And then, of course, you've got the traditional Crest toothpaste or Colgate and so on. All the different brands, they're all the same. It doesn't matter what you buy, the amount of fluoride content in this area are all pretty much the same. This over here has a fluoride content of .15% versus 1.1%, which is a very, very big difference in the difference in concentration for fluoride.
