Attaching Chanelle for a Woolly Bugger

Ok, the next part is attaching the chanelle. You've got a couple of options. Some people just like to leave it attached to the card and deal with it that way, and some people think you don't waste as much material as you do if you just cut it off, like you pull off a little bit and cut some off and you're not really sure how much you're going to use for that particular fly. So, it's not really that much of a hassle just to leave it attached to the card and do it that way. I usually just lay that chanelle down all the way to the front of the hook. So that gives me a nice even base, once again, instead of just cutting it off here, then I get a big hump back here where all the materials are attaching. So, I'm going to attach the chanelle back here, but I'm going to let it continue up to the front of the hook and I'm going to just grab that and I'm going to just wrap it. It's kind of big, open wraps, just wrap it all the way up to the front, so it makes a nice even base under there. Then, I'll wrap it back again, back to the back of the hook where I'm attaching all my materials. Back to that eye of the hook. Give it two or three good ones, make sure you've got it locked down nice and tight and then go ahead and tilt your hook back and now you're ready to attach the next part.
