Ok, next step is attaching my tail to the hook. The first thing I've got to do is actually cut out my material for the tail. So, I usually grab maybe about so much of the marabou that looks about right. So, I'm going to grab it with my other hand, going to pull it back this way and just clip off what I need, right in front of my fingers. So, now, that's my tail. I'm going to pinch that between two fingers on my other hand and just lay it on top of the hook shank, pull my thread up and make two or three nice wraps there. Make sure I've got that thing secured there. Ok, that looks pretty good. Make a few wraps going back this way to kind of just smooth out that transition, where that marabou starts and then I'll wrap it back about where I started, right above the bend of the hook. I'm ready to attach the next part of my materials. Once again, I want to turn it around a little ways so that I can hang free without making contact with the hook and we're ready. It's almost as long as the shank of the hook. You can make the tail shorter or longer, you know, depending on what you want to do, but that's pretty much the standard. That tail's about the same length as the hook.
