How to Use Applique Transfers
Hi I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and we are making appliqui projects. So now we're going to transfer this word onto our white tee shirt and this is going to make a cute little gift for one of my friends who has a baby. This is bambina it's Italian for baby. There are many options you can do whatever you'd like on your computer. You can again use pictures or size your words to whatever size you want and I actually recommend going and printing out on a, like a scratch piece of paper before you actually print onto your transfer paper cause it does get a little costly if you're wasting it, just to be sure that the size that you want is correct, but I just wanted to print out two different sizes so that you could see that you want and whatever font you want. And so we're just going to take our scissors. Now if you flip the paper around you can see that it has this grid here and this actually can help you cut straight lines on your design. You can either cut, again you can cut straight lines around the grid or you can cut your design however you want just be aware that it is going to appear a little bit shiny where you fuse it so be sure that you get the look that you want. So I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to flip mine over and I am going to go ahead and use the grids and, just so I can have a nice clean line. And again don't use fabric scissors use paper scissors so you don't ruin your fabric scissors. And I'm just going to go all the way around it. I can see through the paper, I can see where my design is so know that I'm not cutting it but be sure that you can as well if you?re cutting yours. And then I can just even it out a little you can trim that up and there I have a pretty straight iron on transfer. So we'll see you at the next clip and I'll show you how to iron it on.
