So, what is the smallest part of identifiable matter or an element that we know of so far that we are able to see, that is in matter? Atoms. Now, we do know about Quarks, but we will mention them a little brief, about them, later on. O.k., so than what are Atoms? Atoms are the basic building blocks of matter that make up everyday objects. Again, just like matter since they are the basic building blocks, it's the air, the desk, even you?re made of atom. So Atoms are the smallest thing of identifiable matter, o.k.! So we can only see Atoms through an Electron Microscope, and by the way two German Scientist invented this electron microscope, one later won a Nobel Peace Prize in Physics, o.k.? Now, an Electron Microscope is a certain type of microscope that uses electrons, we'll get into those later on, to light up a specimen and create this big blown up image. Now, Electron Microscopes have a much greater resolving power than normal lighted microscopes. As a matter of fact, they can blow up something two million times it's size. Isn't that incredible? Now, think about this, over a billion atoms can fit on the head of a pin.
I really like this... very interesting stuff about the Universe and all. Well presented.
