Ok, so we got some pretty heavy black thread, obviously to match our black rabbit strip. This will be the first step, once we get the hook in. Just lay that across the hook and just make a few wraps to kind of trap it there. Wrap it nice and even toward the back of the hook. Once you get it locked in, you can go ahead and clip off that tag end. With this fly, we're going to start everything at the back of the hook. We're going to start the rabbit strip back here and so we're going to want to wrap our thread back to the back. It doesn't really matter. The underbody is not very critical when you're using this rabbit strip. It will go over just about anything. If you had some lead wire underneath that, obviously, you'd just wrap it over the lead wire. Once again, get it back close to the point of the hook. Be careful not to nick the thread with the hook. Go ahead and just give it a little turn so that it hangs free and it's not in danger of getting cut by the hook and we're ready for our rabbit strip.
