What is a Crimp Bead?
Hi, I'm Robin with treysmom.com. I'm making a video for Expert Village today. We are making jewelry, I.D. badge holders, photo holders, bracelets... I'm going to show you how you can bead your own. The first step is to take our bead along wire or tiger tail, whichever you choose to use and we're going to add a crimp bead. Now a crimp bead is a teeny-tiny bead that goes on the end, just like this. And it's called a crimp bead because you're going to crimp it down and it's going to hold all the beads on. So, I have added my lobster claw clasp onto my split ring, which I like to use split rings. And it goes on, the wire comes back through, doubles over and the crimp bead goes over the top of both. Pull it clear to the end like this. Using a crimp bead right there and your take the pliers and you?re just going to smash that down with all your might. And I always turn the pliers over, smash it the other way too, just to make sure. And then you're going to tug on it, tug on the wire, tug on the little tail, to make sure that it's secure. That's going to keep all your beads onto your necklace, so you want to make it secure so that it doesn't come apart and they fall apart.
