Martial Arts Defense Against Weapon Attacks

Hi, I'm Jason Jeannette with Elite Martial Arts of Middle, Tennessee, here on behalf of Expert Village. Alright, I'm here with one of our training partners, Kevin Stewart, and he's going to help us run through some empty hand versus club or empty hand versus knife defense. The knife defense, we'll address first. It will be mainly stationary type of threat with a knife, knife to the throat, head lock from behind, hostage-type of positions. Dynamic. We'll do a couple of dynamic defense against a knife, just way more dangerous. With the stick, we can get away with a little more with the club. The club is a little bit easier to get control of to kind of wrap up your attacker and/or turn and run like I'd want to with a knife. If I know someone has a knife, I'm not defending against a knife unless I absolutely have to take care of another person to keep the knife away from somebody else. Otherwise, I'm turning on my heels and running. But the empty hand versus stick, we'll get a little bit more courageous with. We'll talk about different ranges as we're going.
